Mahmoud Amer – Senior Procurement  - Category Management Division Head | Pharma and Health & Wellness Leader


Mahmoud Amer is a strategic senior division manager with over 22 years of leadership experience in pharmaceutical retail, category management and healthcare operations. Currently leading procurement with experience category management at AL-DAWAA Medical Services Co. (DMSCO), he oversees multi-billion SAR portfolios across Pharma RX, Pharma OTC, and Health & Wellness categories. His expertise spans commercial strategy, P&L optimization, pricing and promotion, and SAP-driven procurement, enabling sustainable growth and improved retail profitability.


Across more than a decade at DMSCO, Mahmoud has held key leadership roles including Senior Procurement Division Manager, Health & Wellness Division Manager, and Medical Categories Head. He has led global sourcing initiatives, strengthened supplier relationship management (SRM), and executed digital transformations using SAP MM and inventory management to reduce stock-outs and enhance supply chain accuracy. His earlier career with Novartis and Bayer further strengthened his foundation in sales and marketing, where he achieved global excellence awards, expanded market share, and built high-performing customer networks.


Mahmoud combines deep pharmaceutical knowledge with strong business acumen, holding an MBA from Geneva Business School and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Al-Azhar University, along with certifications in CSCP, Strategic Procurement Management, and Information Privacy. With over 10 years in sales and marketing and 12 years in procurement and category leadership, he remains passionate about driving commercial excellence, leading high-impact teams, and delivering value across the healthcare ecosystem.
